Dr. Blackmore practices in the areas of clinical and health psychology. Using empirically supported treatments, she helps clients learn to cope with challenging life events, or address concerns they may notice with things such as anxiety, depression, or stress. She also has a special interest in perinatal mental health experiences and in working with individuals going through challenges during this unique time. Her approach is client centered and focused on incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) into her clinical work.

Dr. Blackmore provides evidence-based treatment and assessment for adults in the following areas:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety (such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Phobias, Illness Anxiety Disorder)

  • Perinatal mental health concerns (e.g., anxiety and depression)

  • Stress-related concerns

  • OCD

  • Trauma-related disorders

  • Coping with chronic illness or pain

Dr. Blackmore holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Ryerson University. She obtained training during her internship at the Centre of Addition and Mental Health (CAMH) where she worked in the Mood and Anxiety Program and the Psychological Trauma Program. In addition, Dr. Blackmore has experience in diverse settings including private practice, the psychosocial oncology program at Credit Valley Hospital, and the Ryerson Centre for Student Development and Counselling. She completed her graduate studies in the Psychosocial Medicine Lab, where she produced research on the psychological impact of chronic illness such as cancer and Multiple Sclerosis on individuals.
