Dr. Holly Fernandes

Dr. Fernandes practices in the areas of clinical psychology and neuropsychology. Her primary focus is on providing assessments with the goal of helping individuals better understand their difficulties and access appropriate services. She offers neuropsychological assessments for adults and seniors with neurological disorders and acquired brain injuries (e.g., brain tumour, concussion, epilepsy, stroke), as well as psychodiagnostic and psychoeducational assessments for a broad range of concerns (e.g., learning and attention-related disorders, mood, anxiety).

In addition to assessment work, Dr. Fernandes provides evidence-based therapy for adults with various concerns including:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Stress/adjustment

  • Concussion

  • Traumatic brain injuries

  • Learning difficulties (e.g., ADHD)

She strongly believes in using a collaborative therapeutic approach informed by evidence-based treatment to help clients meet their individually tailored goals. Her treatment work is largely informed by principles from client-centered, cognitive behavioural and emotion focused therapies.

Dr. Fernandes received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from York University, specializing in Clinical Neuropsychology. She completed her pre-doctoral residency at the CPA-accredited  Ottawa Hospital, and has previously held positions at Baycrest Health Sciences, Toronto Western Hospital’s Neuropsychology Clinic, Princess Margaret Hospital’s Pencer Brain Tumour Centre and The York University Psychology Clinic.
