Chelsea Stevenson, M.A.

Chelsea practices in the areas of counselling and school psychology. She is completing her supervised practice year with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) providing assessment and counselling services under the supervision of Dr. Janis Williams. 

Chelsea’s primary focus is on providing assessments to children, adolescents, and youth for a wide range of concerns (e.g., behavioural challenges, intellectual disorders, learning disorders, mental health concerns) in order to help individuals better understand their strengths and needs. Chelsea also provides evidence-based therapy (e.g., Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) to support children and adolescents with various challenges impacting their well-being, such as:

- Anxiety (e.g., phobias, social, generalized)

- Emotion Regulation

- Depression 

- Learning Difficulties (e.g., ADHD)

- OCD and related disorders 

- Relationship Issues

- Stress/Adjustment

- Traumatic experiences 

Chelsea’s approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and client-centered. By focusing on the therapeutic relationship, Chelsea integrates interventions and techniques that are tailored to the client’s specific needs and goals. Chelsea works with the client and their parents (when the clients are children or adolescents) to build upon the client’s strengths to help them further develop skills to flourish in their life’s endeavours. 

Chelsea received her Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Western University in 2017. She has been a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) since 2018. She has gained a wealth of experience providing therapeutic and assessment services to various populations, including children and adolescents in forensic, school, and private practice settings. In addition to her work with Waterloo Psychology Group, Chelsea is also a Psychological Associate (Supervised Practice) at the Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB), where she provides assessment, consultation and interventions to children and adolescents.
