She has participated in a cognitive psychology lab and examined how Brief Mindfulness Meditation may help improve one’s ability to regulate their emotions towards negative memories. Currently, she is undertaking a research course in the Neurobiology of Cognition Lab that investigates how early life enrichment may prevent effects of Alzheimer’s Disease pathology. Beverly-Ann is also helping complete a PhD dissertation that centres around the identity of children who are in the welfare system, while also transitioning out of Residential Mental Health Treatment. To continue her interest in research, she will be completing an honours thesis in the fall, in the realm of learning and memory. She enjoys volunteering for crisis lines and working with children as an Early Childhood Assistant. Beverly-Ann aspires to complete a Master’s degree in psychotherapy and work her way to becoming a clinical psychologist for children and adolescents.
