Sophie Booth

Undergraduate Student Volunteer

Sophie is an undergraduate student, majoring in psychology, at McGill University. She is passionate about helping those suffering from mental health issues and disabilities.

She has been interested in psychology from a young age after founding and managing a student-led volunteering program to help children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. The aim of the group was to promote social inclusion and interaction among the children with ASD and volunteers through playing games and participating in outings. The playgroup took place on Saturday mornings which allowed the parents of the children to run errands and have some time to themselves while their children were being cared for. She ran the group throughout high school and now continues volunteering and working with children and teens with disabilities during her studies.
